Tannic Acid
CAS: 1401-55-4
Name:
Tannic Acid
Other names:
Tanninum; DSSTox_CID_6076; 1401-55-4; DSSTox_RID_78006; DSSTox_GSID_26076; Gallotannic acid; Quebracho extract
Gallotannin is an inhibitor of PARG (poly(ADP-ribose) glycohydrolase). Gallotannin is cytoprotective in oxidatively stressed cells. Gallotannin is an inhibitor of NOS3 (eNOS) and a weak inhibitor of NOS2 (iNOS) and NOS1 (nNOS). Gallotannin induces Cox-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) expression and is a free radical scavenger.
